On the back it says Eclipse made by E. Came from a grand old Southern Mansion. The slow and laborious crafting and carving, one piece at a time, by a master woodworker was not suited to the new mass market. The desk is double sided as all the period originals were, you have normal drawers on the bosses side and then twin cupboards and a central drawer on the other partner or secretary side. This set is solid Oak with the desk having a Maple top. We have cleaned waxed and polished the desk from top to bottom. The type of dovetailed joint, especially in drawers, reveals much about furniture construction and dating.
This clock is very heavy, evidently a fairly solid piece of metal. It is also called flamed maple. Has been painted previously but would look great if stripped back to original timber finish.

So, as you can see, there is a lot to learn if you want to do this yourself. Antique furnishings can tell a story one that may only exist in the imagination of the lucky person acquiring the piece. My husband brought this clock home one day and I know nothing about it. Some were made from all wood, such as redwood, pine and oak. Real lacquer changes color after time. It is a brass carriage clock as per photograph.

- It's in perfect condition and looks new.
No brand names of any kind on this clock. Larger than most in great used condition. The face is behind glass and is gold and black. Sailboat Clock by United Clock Corp.
It has all of its original parts. Any-way, mine doesn't work either, at least not consistantly. After searching on the internet it looks like a banjo clock. Three burr maple stationery drawers to the rear with seven cubbies over.
Here you can see the workings very typical of Sessions clocks so far as I have seen. Somebody asked me to sell it. Can you help identify this clock?
On the back of the wagon it says United Metal Goods Co. Mornington Peninsula Balnarring. It has butterflies and flowers on it.
